September 2008 Events
Fall Small Groups Are Beginning! (download
the brochure) Beginning the week of September 14, we'll be beginning our
exploration of the Book of Acts. After Jesus completed his
earthly ministry, his followers remained to carry his good news into the
rest of the world. The Book of Acts tells the story of the real
people who sought to bring the hope and truth of God’s love in Jesus
Christ to a diverse and often hostile world. What they encountered
was nothing short of life changing. In fact, if you could sum up their
experiences in two words, you might say they found themselves on a "Great Adventure"
–
one that took them to places they’d never dreamed of with a God who
continually amazed and encouraged them. This fall we are embarking on our own
"Great Adventure", as we walk alongside those first followers of Jesus.
And you’re invited! Join us as we discover God’s hope and truth in
our own life changing ways this fall. For more information, contact

Graceland Resumes
September 7th, 11:00 - 12:00. Connecting
kids with each other, God, and others! We begin in community sharing a
healthy snack, then discover together God and His people through games,
skits, crafts, and mission.
KidZown Worship Every
Sunday after children's blessing in adult worship. Children 3 years
to 3rd grade grace enjoy praising God and hearing His Word. The kids are learning the
greatest commandment "Love the Lord, your God, with all your,
heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength....Love your
neighbor as your self." Mark 13 30b-31b. They will be exploring
what each component means--how to love God with your heart, with your
soul, with your mind, with your strength, and what does it look like to
love your neighbor? Who is your neighbor? All the while having fun with
active worship, games and crafts.

Operation Christmas
Child Shoebox Ministry! It’s not too
early to start to check the sales for items to go into a child’s shoebox
Christmas gift. The stores have end-of-summer and back-to-school sales.
Pick up pens and pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps
and ink pads, coloring books, writing pads or paper (shoebox size),
cars, balls, dolls, yo-yos, stuffed animals, toothpaste, toothbrush,
soap, comb, washcloth, hard candy, sunglasses, ball caps, socks,
T-shirts, hair clips or ornaments, watches, small picture books, etc.
Bring everything to the office or give it to Jo Apel.We will be packing
shoebox gifts on Sunday, October 26.
